In this work, a man seems to emerge from the stone itself. He carries an almost mineral presence, cold and unchanging. Yet this man has already seized a deer: the living held in the hands of someone who believes he can claim ownership of the land. To me, this man represents a form of capitalism that has become blind to the world around it. He moves forward, taking possession, dividing and transforming every piece of nature into wealth. He takes without asking, as if the land belonged to him, without considering what will remain once everything has been turned into property, numbers, and monetary value.
