Golden sunset

Golden Sunset is a two-panel piece I painted that pairs a bold, molten sun ( titanium white then covered with a mixture of cadmium yellow, orange and red Golden acrylic paints, then mixed colors with sparkle varnish creating a halo) with stark, leafless branches reaching upward. The sky moves from deep red to orange and golden yellow (golden acrylic paint) creating a calm, dramatic backdrop. I rendered the branches in high-contrast titanium whites and purple dioxide mixed with Payne’s grey (golden acrylic paints) using textured brushwork to give them a birch-like silhouette against the glow. The overall composition presents quiet energy without overwhelming the room — a subtle, striking work that would fit beautifully in your living area, entryway, or office.
