Clairjour

Inspired by a trip to the South, “Clairjour” evokes the lightness of spring foliage at dawn on a sunny morning. This square-format work, measuring 24 x 24 inches, is created using professional-grade acrylic paint, applied with painting knives using impasto and sponge techniques, and protected by three layers of glossy varnish. The technique used gives the surface a tactile depth even in reproductions. At the center of the composition, a heart-shaped form composed of round, impastoed brushstrokes in shades of pale yellow, ochre, and teal stands out against a background built up in successive layers of deep blue, aqua, and white. "Clairjour" is an invitation to pause, breathe, and savor the present moment. The work is well-suited for interiors where color plays a defining role and may appeal to collectors drawn to gestural abstract expressionism.
