BROKEN HEART

Painted in intense reds streaked with white and black, it seems to be both consuming itself and radiating light—a living, wounded, luminous entity. Orbiting around it are celestial spheres—planets frozen in epoxy resin—each bearing its own light: the incandescent orange of a sun, the cold gray of a moon, the earthy brown of a forgotten world. The heart is not at the center of the universe. It is the chaotic, fragmented, and yet magnetic universe itself. The splashes of paint exploding from the heart remind us that pain is never contained. It overflows, it leaves its mark, it traces new paths through space. “Broken Heart” explores what we do with our fractures: do we let them define us, or do we learn to inhabit them as we inhabit the cosmos—by contemplating them from afar, with a distance that resembles peace?
