TECHNIQUE AND MATERIALS Plaster, texturing paste, mortar, gesso, clay, encaustic, natural pigments, sand, coarse salt, citric acid, inks, oxidizing agents, metals, and varnish. STORY BEHIND THE WORK The earth bears its wounds exposed. In *Scar of the Earth*, the material appears to have been burned, hollowed out, and then slowly recolonized by color. Deep greens, mineral blues, and metallic sheens emerge amid darker areas, as if life were still seeking its way through a disrupted surface. This work draws a parallel between the land and the human body. Both bear the marks of impact, pressure, and the passage of time. Both can be permanently transformed without losing their capacity to sustain life. Oxidation is not used merely as a decorative effect. It reveals a genuine reaction of the material. The metal changes, corrodes, and develops new colors, reminding us that certain transformations cannot be fully controlled. The work emerged from this encounter between intention and the unpredictable. *Scar of the Earth* does not seek to idealize healing. Rather, it shows that a wound can become a complex territory: dark in some places, fertile in others, and deeply alive. The earth does not hide what it has been through. It transforms it into a landscape.
