Voracity

This work depicts human greed and selfishness through distorted figures that devour one another in a struggle for consumption. The intertwined bodies, exaggerated forms, and gestures—in which each figure seems to be sucking in or crushing the other—embody this desire to take more and more, while the vivid colors and energetic brushstrokes accentuate the frenzy of this consumption. By contrasting the vibrancy of the colors with the violence of the bodies devouring one another, the work captures a humanity in which greed drives each person to consume the other to satisfy their own desire, until there is nothing left but voracity.
