This work depicts the universality of death through a multitude of white skulls repeated against a deep black background. The variations in the shapes and features of each skull embody the differences between individuals, while their repetition—which extends beyond the boundaries of the composition—evokes a continuous presence that cannot be contained within the space of the painting. By contrasting the diversity of the skulls with their shared fate, the work captures the idea that, despite the differences that define each individual throughout their life, death ultimately erases these distinctions.
