JUST A MONSTER?

This work depicts the pain caused by being perceived as evil, through a face marked by an identity that seems to have been imposed upon it. The red and blue hues that run across the face, the tears, the horns attached to the skull, and the nervous lines surrounding the figure embody the weight of judgment, labeling, and guilt. By contrasting the character’s monstrous appearance with the sadness evident on his face, the work captures that moment when the image others construct of us ultimately comes into conflict with who we truly are.
