Make me forget

This work explores the dispossession of the body and sexual violence through a figure frozen in place and restrained by multiple hands. The yellow hands crossing the face and creeping onto the temples, cheeks, and mouth embody sexual abuse, while the lips marked with a red imprint become a symbol of imposed silence and the loss of control over one’s own voice. The grid pattern on the forehead accentuates this idea of a fragmented identity—rebuilt yet weakened under the weight of trauma. The work captures the paradox of a body that remains present while being deprived of itself, to the point where, in order to defend itself, forgetting becomes the only recourse.
