CRASH

This work depicts the transformation of a violent event into an object of analysis and visual consumption, through two vehicles frozen in the moment of a collision. Onomatopoeia, handwritten annotations, numbers, and references to technical and media jargon graphically embody the impact, the documentation of violence, and the way in which trauma can be reduced to an accumulation of information. By contrasting the physical brutality of the impact with the cold detachment of the symbols surrounding it, the work captures the paradox of violence transformed into an image—one that is observed and interpreted rather than actually experienced.
