Aimee

Here is my portrait inspired by the extraordinary features of the big-eyed Aimee Lou Wood. I’d like to introduce my “Xpression” collection I drew inspiration from my past experiences in theater, video games, and digital illustration. What stood out most was my passion for creating characters and their expressions. I’m fascinated by what a human being can convey. In my view, facial expression in portraits is incredibly beautiful because it’s a source of vibrant, magical energy. It’s simply impossible to overlook. Thus, each canvas depicts a distinct, semi-realistic character revealing a powerful expression. The mediums I use are: oil, acrylic, varnish, and sometimes even plaster. When I paint the characters, I try to maintain a high degree of realism by paying particular attention to light and shadow. I play a lot with contrasts and color saturation. It’s in the background where I have the most fun. I let myself go when applying the paint, using larger brushes and applying color with broad strokes. I also use the dripping technique to add movement and intensity. Each piece is unique and original, meaning you’ll own something truly special and one-of-a-kind. The expressive, colorful figures in the artwork can evoke a range of emotions and tell captivating stories, offering you an enriching visual and emotional experience. A colorful and expressive work of art can serve as a focal point in any room, adding life, personality, and visual interest to your space.
