Austin Nights

Subject Matter: It features an isolated, detailed close-up of a singular, sprawling chrysanthemum bloom in full flower. Color Palette: The bloom showcases a highly dynamic contrast of colors, blending vibrant yellow highlights across the upper petals with deep violet and cool lavender shades defining the curling lower petals. The Background: In line with her professional series, the backdrop is rendered in a dark, atmospheric wash of near-black and deep grey tones. This heavy, negative space envelops the bloom and forcefully pushes the brilliant floral details forward. Texture: It is executed on heavy cotton paper with visible, hand-torn deckle-edged borders along the outer frame, giving the overall piece a distinct tactile finish.
