Momento Manifesto (Framed)

Momento Manifesto is a confrontation with the self at the exact moment identity refuses to remain still. Two figures appear stacked in opposition, one upright and one inverted, creating a psychological mirror where the body becomes both witness and contradiction. The work feels like a private declaration made before the world has time to translate it. The faces are not polished portraits. They are emotional documents. Their features carry pressure, distortion, and residue, as if memory has touched them too many times. The dark areas of charcoal create a weight around the figures, while the softer graphite marks allow vulnerability to remain visible. The result is a body that feels present, fractured, and in the middle of becoming. The title suggests a manifesto, but this is not a manifesto written with certainty. It is a manifesto built from confusion, survival, grief, desire, and transformation. The work speaks to the experience of trying to understand oneself while living through emotional chaos. It holds the tension between control and surrender, between the need to communicate and the impossibility of saying everything clearly. Through graphite, charcoal, and ink, Momento Manifesto becomes a visual statement about perception, selfhood, and inner conflict. The inverted composition suggests that growth is not always upward, healing is not always clean, and identity is often formed through reversal, rupture, and return. The work does not ask to be understood quickly. It asks the viewer to stay with the discomfort of becoming someone new while still carrying every version that came before.
