The American character doesn’t watch or listen—he broadcasts. I wanted to reflect the growing distrust of authority figures, whether in politics or the media. The public is inundated with a constant stream of contradictory information. I want to denounce an era in which public discourse has become a spectacle, in which truth is drowned out by noise, and in which power is exercised through the manipulation of narratives. It is a scathing critique of political and media discourse in the United States, highlighting the deliberate blurring of the lines between truth, opinion, security, and freedom. The head on a snowy TV screen: It evokes disinformation and the absence of independent thought. The figure has no face—it is an interface, a screen, a source of noise. Authority figures do not think for themselves but broadcast prefabricated narratives. The words floating around are terms that, in the current American context, have become rhetorical weapons. They are often used to justify policies, discredit opponents, or manipulate public opinion. In the United States, political debates are marked by a war of narratives. My graffiti illustrates this cacophony where facts are downplayed, opinions are overvalued, and lies are sometimes institutionalized.
