Clockwork Control

My painting depicts a society in 2026 where the promise of security becomes a pretext for total surveillance. By drawing on the visual style of *A Clockwork Orange*, I wanted to show that violence is no longer that of the film’s ultraviolent gangs, but rather—more coldly—that of omnipresent institutional control. In the film, “clockwork” evokes the human being transformed into a machine through conditioning. In my painting, “Clockwork Control” suggests that conditioning is no longer experimental: it has become political, institutional, and part of everyday life. “Clockwork Control” evokes the cold machine, the mechanics of power, and the loss of humanity.
