Homelessness Kills, Indifference As Well #2

I submitted this artwork (#1) to the “L’itinéraire” community group. This piece, inspired by my son, embodies a father’s hope for a more inclusive city. For me, inclusion is part of my everyday life. I’m the dad of a boy with Down syndrome. Through him, I’ve learned that the way others look at us can change everything. When we talk about homelessness, I think of those people we pass by and all too often ignore. And I tell myself: if my son weren’t surrounded by love and inclusion, he, too, could be rejected, cast aside, and left to fend for himself. It’s a thought that deeply moves me. Being the parent of a child who is different has made me more sensitive to these realities. I know how much everyone needs to be recognized, respected, and welcomed. So when we talk about inclusion, I can’t remain indifferent. For me, it’s not just a word—it’s a promise: the promise of a society where no one is invisible, where no one is left behind. Work #1 now takes pride of place in L’Itinéraire’s meeting room, so that everyone who walks through L’Itinéraire’s doors can feel its power and emotion.
