Telling ourselves a beautiful story

What is the meaning of art? Simply to tell a beautiful story. On recycled cardboard, artist Gaëlle Étémé explores the magic of Christmas, the solitude of creation, and the taste of rediscovered childhood using oil pastels to create grotesque forms on a brown background with acrylic touches, slightly playful to remind us of the importance of play in art. Everything seems to float in this interplay of thick white lines, through which a chimera perhaps disguises itself in rags of different colors: blue, red, yellow, and mauve.
