“Bringing light to the surface.”

Painter · Québec, Canada
Shawna Pagé-Cornforth is a contemporary artist based in Quebec City, known for her sculptural textile works that blend painting and relief. Inspired by traditional canvas-making techniques, she reclaims and transforms discarded fabrics, stitching and shaping them into three-dimensional figures. Her characters and animals emerge from the material as delicate yet luminous presences. Her work explores themes of resilience, memory, and transformation. Visible seams, repaired textures, and weathered surfaces become symbols of reconstruction — where what was once overlooked is given new life, softness, and meaning. Through a palette of copper tones, verdigris, and warm hues, Shawna creates an inviting and deeply human universe that resonates with collectors and visitors alike. Active on Rue du Trésor in Old Quebec, she continues to develop a distinctive practice that brings together material, emotion, and inner light.
