Where chaos ends on a high note.
Mattiuzzo has long maintained a close relationship with art, nourished by his contemplation of drawing, the visual arts, and music. This sustained engagement has gradually opened up an inner space where painting has emerged as a necessary field of exploration—one that is both intuitive and committed. His early works took shape in an intimate setting, marked by a desire to experiment without constraints. Figures, bold impasto, dense or more subdued surfaces: this exploratory phase allowed him to experiment with materials, gesture, and color through a free, instinctive, and at times direct approach. Gradually, a personal visual language emerged, driven by the desire to create works that capture the viewer’s attention and establish a deliberate visual tension. Today, his work is oriented toward high-impact expressive abstraction, driven by bold colors and a sustained focus on material and process. Through several distinct series, he is gradually consolidating a coherent artistic approach in which gesture, surface, and time occupy a central place.
