Painter · Montréal, Canada
Jean-Paul Labelle is a visual artist based in the Montreal metropolitan area whose practice explores the relationship between urban environments, pop culture, and the traces of human activity. Working with salvaged industrial and everyday objects, he transforms discarded materials into sculptural forms that explore memory, consumer culture, and the passage of time. Through processes such as casting, resin encapsulation, and experimentation with materials, his work recontextualizes ordinary objects, transforming them into contemporary relics that invite reflection on the ever-evolving dialogue between individuals, consumption, and the built environment. Jean-Paul Labelle holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Concordia University, where he specialized in sculpture.
