I am a 64 year old newcomer to Canada. I moved here in June of 2025 with my wife, who is a Canadian citizen, to spend our olden years near our children and grandchildren. I am not a refugee rather I am someone who will do anything to make my wife happy, including leaving a state, country , and area I have lived in all my life. It has been a bit of an adjustment getting used to another culture and climate no matter how similar people may consider them to be. This brings me to why I took up painting, oil painting landscapes particularly I’m not a sophisticated man or artist. I dabble more than most artists. I paint what I see or what comes to mind. Mostly I paint for therapy. I was diagnosed with CPTSD in the last few years and painting helps quiet my mind. It gives my mind something to concentrate on rather than trauma. I believe that art can be one of the most effective means of therapy, whether guided or just dabbling as I do. I have no resume or specific artistic history. I am an amateur to the core and won’t mislead you by making you think otherwise. I want to exhibit because I want to share what I do in hopes that others will find the same peace in my work that I do. I have gone through several phases of artistic endeavor from basic color landscapes to color splash to, a series of accidents that resulted in an “Acid Rain” series. I hope you enjoy my work and I hope you will find them worthy of your patronage.
