Painting what lies behind closed eyes. Dominique Therrien, also known as DoT, is a self-taught painter from Quebec whose work explores inner life, emotions, and the connections that dwell within us. In her series *Retour en soi*, her female figures with closed eyes invite us to slow down and turn our gaze inward. JOYS is a series of abstract paintings born from a desire to cast a bright light on what connects us. Through bold colors, organic and geometric shapes, lines that intersect, come closer or separate, I create worlds where movement, encounters, and contrasts constantly seek their balance. My compositions can evoke territories, gardens, imaginary cities, networks, or even microcosms.
Return to Oneself
Return to Oneself is an invitation to slow down, to close the eyes to external noise in order to better listen to what dwells within us. Through introspective female figures surrounded by colors, shapes, and movements, the series explores the relationship to oneself, to nature, to dreams, and to our inner world. Each work evokes a path towards more freedom, confidence, and gentleness towards oneself.
