“I still look at the world with the curiosity of little Janie.”

Muralist · Montréal, Canada
Citronnelle spent a long time reflecting on the role art played in her life and why she loved both creating and experiencing it. The answer: it brings her happiness, peace, and a sense of well-being. Based on this reflection, she set out to create for her own happiness and to share it with those around her. She creates with a childlike joy that pays homage to that time in life when everything can be a source of beauty and magic. While her illustrations are highly stylized, her paintings explore the theme of childhood in the subjects she chooses to depict, yet demonstrate technical maturity. She still observes the world with the curiosity of little Janie. Every ordinary moment can be wonderful if viewed from the right angle and painted with the same respect as a canvas with a grand narrative. She completed her studies in visual arts at Cégep du Vieux-Montréal in 2023. She received her program’s scholarship of excellence and was selected for a solo exhibition at the CANIF gallery following her final project. Now a co-owner of an art studio and a full-time artist, she juggles illustration, tattooing, and painting commissions. Now represented by L’Original Gallery, she is delighted to continue creating for her own joy—and yours!
