THE APPROACH

I walk along the paths of art, which I explore with passion

Cath François is an emerging painter who began painting nearly two years ago. She has completed a Creative Drawing course at Maison des Arts Rive‑Sud (Fall 2025–Winter 2026) and acrylic and mixed‑media classes at Les Cours du Samedi, Université du Québec à Montréal. Early in her practice, she drew significant inspiration from Australian Aboriginal art. Over time, she developed her own figurative style, featuring flowers, vases, water‑lily landscapes, and animals such as turtles. Her paintings are vibrant, joyful, and colorful. She primarily works in acrylic, while also exploring oil pastel, India ink, and charcoal. In January–February 2026, she exhibited at the Arts Québec gallery in Vieux‑Longueuil; the opening reception on February 22 featured about twenty paintings. In February 2026, six works were shown at the Pop‑Up Fest pop‑up shop at Morphoze studio in Montreal. In April 2026, she participated in the Saint‑Hyacinthe Galleries Symposium. Upcoming symposia include Saint‑Siméon, Waterloo, Bromont, Mascouche, and Joliette. Since December 2025, she has sold 30 paintings, including several special commissions. A single guiding principle drives her brush: the joy of painting and of bringing joy to those who contemplate her work. She feels deeply honored when someone purchases one of her paintings and displays it in their home; it is profoundly rewarding. She loves to discover, explore, and experiment, embracing the lifelong learning that comes with a blank canvas, and she is motivated to continue advancing her practice and meeting art lovers at events, symposia, and exhibitions.
