The Crimson Season (2026)

Flowers fade and seasons pass, yet life once burned with this absolute brilliance. In this work, I move away from concrete forms, allowing the acrylics to build, collide and tear across the canvas. Layers of vermilion, crimson, scarlet and deep shadow converge in a turbulent field of colour and gesture, capturing the intensity of a season at its most alive. Yet beneath this fervent surface lies an awareness of transience. The dense, textured surface becomes a meditation on the passage of time - the beauty of things that flourish, burn brightly and inevitably begin to fade. Destruction and renewal are not opposites, but part of the same movement of life. The crimson becomes more than a colour. It is the trace of a life fully lived: a moment of fierce presence, passion and transformation before it dissolves into memory. The Crimson Season captures that fleeting moment when life burns with uncompromising brilliance, even as time quietly carries it away.
