Melkbos Strand depicts the quiet drama of the shoreline where day melts into night. A field of cool marbled grey greens suggests the restless surface of sea and rock, while above it, a calm expanse of neutral tones is interrupted by two precise colour bars: a deep violet band and a luminous yellow block. Together they hold the tension between sunrise and sunset and the remembrance of a landscape that never leaves me.
