Picnic (2026)

Picnic is a celebration of coming together. Blocks of color gather across the canvas like people around a shared table-distinct in character, yet connected through their overlapping edges, transparent layers, and unexpected relationships. Blues, greens, yellows, pinks, and reds create a lively conversation, while moments of white and black provide pauses and punctuation. A feast of colors stand in for a feast of foods. The composition suggests the beautiful disorder of gathering: different shapes, energies, and personalities occupying the same space without needing to become the same. What emerges is a sense of community, connection, and shared experience— a visual reminder that something new can happen when separate things come together. The varied shapes suggest the lively movement of people gathering, sharing, talking, laughing, and celebrating. Picnic is not about one central figure or focal point. It is about the whole gathering— the abundance, energy, spontaneity, and pleasure that emerge when separate things and people come together.
