Masquerade 1

Masquerade explores the masks we wear to move through a world that cannot always see what lies beneath the surface. The work speaks to the tension between appearance and reality, strength and vulnerability, visibility and invisibility — and to the quiet performance of wellness that can accompany an unseen struggle. The composition unfolds through layered textures, veiled forms, and intricate patterns that suggest both protection and concealment. Yet what appears contained in daylight transforms under UV light: fluorescent elements emerge from the darkness, revealing a hidden dimension that remains invisible at first glance. In natural light, Masquerade is subtle and enigmatic. Under UV, it becomes luminous and exposed, bringing to the surface what was deliberately concealed. The work invites us to question the limits of perception: What do we see? What remains hidden? And what does it take to reveal what lies beneath the mask?
