Four letters. A question as old as time. "Love" sets the blue like a breath, then lets everything else spill over—pink, acid green, pulsing yellow. The red "LOVE" is too big for the canvas; it spills out of the frame, refusing to be confined. And in the center, stamped barely visible: how do I love thee. A question with no definitive answer, inscribed in the material like a secular prayer. For those who know that love cannot be contained—it overflows, it stains, it remains. About this work “Love” is one of the most poetic works in Alexandra Lev Art’s body of work. It evokes Elizabeth Barrett Browning—“how do I love thee”—without ever openly claiming it. The line appears stamped in the center, almost obscured by layers of paint, as if love itself resists being too clearly named. The red “LOVE” spilling out of the frame on the right is a deliberate choice: love does not fit within the boundaries imposed upon it. It breaks free, it insists, it takes up more space than we give it. This original urban abstract painting plays on the tension between the restraint of the blue and the excess of the red. The texture of the surface—textured and grainy in places—creates a depth that shifts with the light. In the morning, the pinks dominate. In the evening, the blue takes over. It is a work that evolves with time and light, just like what it represents. Created in Montreal by Alexandra Lev Art, a one-of-a-kind mixed-media piece on canvas, impossible to reproduce identically. Mixed media on canvas — 24×24×3" (60×60×7.5 cm) Double-layer satin varnish, Signed, Certificate of Authenticity, Ready to hang.
