Lineage of the Earthen Keepers (2018)

This hand‑painted silk installation presents a vertical sequence of five symbolic vessel forms, each rendered with intricate linework and warm earth‑tone palettes of orange, black, and deep brown. The motifs echo traditional pottery silhouettes and cultural iconography, forming a rhythmic ascent along the textile’s length. Each vessel is adorned with geometric detailing and ornamental patterning, creating a visual dialogue between ancient craft traditions and contemporary fine‑art textile practice. The composition reflects Tyrone Strother’s ongoing exploration of cultural memory, sacred objects, and the continuity of handcrafted design. The warm gradient background enhances the sculptural presence of each motif, while the precision of the detailing showcases the artist’s mastery of controlled silk‑painting techniques. Presented in the artist’s signature 60×15 vertical format, the work stands as a meditative study of lineage, symbolism, and the preservation of ancestral forms within modern textile art.
