Artwork Description

The Titan Cronus attacked his father, the primordial sky god Uranus, with a stone sickle provided by his mother Gaia. Cronus castrated Uranus and threw his father's remains into the ocean. As the remnants churned in the sea, white foam formed around them. From this magical froth, Venus, the Goddess of Love, emerged as a fully grown, breathtaking woman.
