The Memory of Surfaces - 041 (2025)

The thick, textured acrylic layers create a tactile surface that interacts with light, emphasizing the contrast between warm and cool colors. Set within a simple white frame, the composition invites a close, contemplative engagement, highlighting the artist's exploration of texture and color interplay. This painting belongs to the series The Memory of Surfaces, which explores the interplay between structured colour and freely worked texture. Fields of colour meet irregular reliefs, while layered surfaces preserve traces of the artist’s gestures. As the light and viewing angle change, raised textures and recesses reveal subtle shades and shadows. Evoking weathered walls, geological layers or imagined landscapes, the painting invites the viewer to discover its own rhythms, contrasts and details.
