The Flight of Childhood (2026)

The young girl is depicted in a moment of pure contemplation, gazing up at hot air balloons soaring into an abstract landscape rich in vibrant and contrasting colors. Fluttering butterflies inhabit the composition, symbolizing freedom, innocence, and the lightness of a child's gaze. Created with acrylic paint and enhanced by intricate marker details, the artwork weaves a poetic and luminous universe where the world is perceived through imagination and wonder. "The Flight of Childhood" evokes the delicate bridge between dream and reality, showcasing our ability to rise above the everyday through the purity of a child's eyes. This piece was directly inspired by my own awe while attending the hot air balloon festival in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu—a suspended moment where I felt like a child again, carried away by the magic and lightness of the sky.
