Divine Kois

A pond seen from directly above, painted almost entirely in blues, this piece is about stillness and serenity. From divine looking koi fishes to the dark shadows of branches and tiles submerged by calming water. The monochrome palette of blues makes the pond feel slightly unreal to me, like a place I would visit in the most beautiful dreams. Painting it was the closest I've come to putting a deep breath on canvas.
