KINTSUGI

This artwork can be displayed horizontally or vertically. KINTSUGI is a traditional Japanese art form that involves repairing broken ceramics — bowls, cups, vases — by rejoining the pieces with lacquer dusted with gold, silver, or platinum. The philosophy behind it is not to hide the damage but to celebrate it: instead of concealing the cracks, they are highlighted with gold. The repaired object often becomes more beautiful and more precious than it was before it broke.
