28” X28” acrylic on acrylic. Framed. Curtains clips are removable. This work began as a visual language for pain that could not be spoken. The forest-like scene is grown from tears—each mark an accumulation, not a moment. The red gestures record injury, not only to the body, but to the self. The small coloured forms suggest attempts to quiet what could not be quieted. The vertical drips are both falling and dissolving tears-happy, sad and painful, tracing the passage of grief through time. All tears have accumulated at the bottom of the scene, depicting the weight of life, which ebbs and flows like a river. The white space is not emptiness. It is exposure. It is the starkness of existing without protection, where nothing interrupts the weight of what is felt. The translucent curtain was added as an act of care. It does not conceal the work, nor does it remove what is present. Instead, it creates a boundary—something gentle placed between the wound and the world. The curtain hangs symmetrically, evenly on both sides, neither opening nor closing. It does not reveal or hide. It holds. Nothing behind the veil has been erased. Every mark remains. Every trace is still visible. The work does not ask to be unseen. It asks to be held. #9 in my Life Happens series. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
