Efflorescence

This work was born from a desire to dance on the canvas, to inhabit my joy, to take up all the space. Vibrant and unusual colors call to me. I choose my pigments and prepare my mixtures. I begin by using a brush attached to the end of a long bamboo stick, which I dip into a liquid mixture over the canvas laid at my feet. With broad movements of my arms, I trace lines to the rhythm of my freedom, of my “loussitude.” I give myself full permission and play, without expectations, with a desire to let come whatever the unknown wishes to reveal to me. At several moments, I allow myself to be surprised by what unfolds spontaneously on the painting and dazzles me. The story continues in this way, in a constant and gentle dialogue between the canvas and my essence.
