Downhearted

One of the first paintings created during the covid lockdown, this piece reflects the emotional weight of a Time when there was an unspoken expectation to carry on as though everything was okay. Beneath the composed exterior, however, was loneliness confinement and an internal struggle. The work explores the contrast between appearing fine and quietly falling apart, and the pressure to maintain an outward sense of beauty and normalcy while struggling within.
