Hunters

In my work titled Hunter, I wanted to once again explore the depth and strong symbolic force that characterize the Canadian Woodland style. By delicately superimposing successive layers of color, I sought to bring a rich and vibrant texture to life. Brushstrokes and knife work intertwine to create a dense material, where each tool gesture leaves its mark, giving the canvas an organic and tactile presence. The assertive black lines structure the whole, guiding the eye through the forms and underscoring the mystery of this composition. At the heart of this piece, two birds stand in tandem, fixed in a posture that is both noble and enigmatic. They watch beneath a sky that evokes the singular clarity of a full moonlit night. Although the palette is not darkened, this diffuse and enveloping light symbolizes lunar radiance: a clarity that is both cool and soothing, bathing the scene. This celestial body suspended in immensity subtly recalls the cosmos and the universe, anchoring the work in a deeply spiritual and timeless dimension.
