What Holds in the Silence

This work explores what remains when an image begins to fade. Beneath layers of plaster, acrylic paint and spray paint, a human presence emerges in fragments, like a memory refusing to disappear completely. Jute was chosen for its raw, visible texture. In some areas, its woven structure shows through the paint; elsewhere, the plaster creates relief, irregularities and passages of erasure. Black, white and touches of red build a tension between strength and fragility, between what is revealed and what remains concealed. Created in mixed media on jute mounted over a one-inch wooden stretcher, the work invites viewers to slow down and search for the figure beneath the material. It offers no definitive answer. Instead, it allows each person to recognize something of their own story within what appears, disappears and endures.
