I painted "Besoin de vacances" (Need a Vacation) during a time when I was exhausted from work and from the city... I just wanted to get away, disconnect from everything for a while, and breathe somewhere else. At the time, I dreamed of the Laurentians, the smell of pine trees, some peace and quiet, and a few days away from Montreal... This small painting represents exactly that state of mind: still stuck in the city, but already somewhere else in my head.
