A Little Further South – Amalfi Coast

A Little Further South – Amalfi Coast explores the way memories of place are assembled into new landscapes. Rather than depicting a single location, I brought together views from Sorrento overlooking the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius, the iconic striped beach cabanas of Liguria and the Amalfi Coast, and Capri's luminous turquoise waters to create a contemporary Mediterranean landscape built from the moments that stayed with me most. Instead of documenting a specific scene, I reassembled these places into a composition shaped by memory rather than geography. Each destination contributes its own atmosphere, colours and visual language, blending together into a single landscape that captures the feeling of travelling through Southern Italy. The painting combines acrylic, collage and drawing to create a layered composition that moves between realism and abstraction. A Little Further South – Amalfi Coast is an original contemporary painting inspired by the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Naples and the Mediterranean, celebrating the places that continue to shape my memories long after the journey has ended.
