I was inspired to paint this *Field of Sunflowers* by nostalgia for those moments when I had the chance to walk through the fields, observe them up close, and seek to express their beauty through painting.In this work, painted in oil on canvas in the fall of 2020, I focused on constructing the space by aligning contrasting colors. I placed several flowers in the foreground, seen up close, while behind them, I let the field gradually stretch toward the horizon.The flowers extend into the depth of the landscape until they fade into the vastness of the field, creating an impression of vast space—this composition is designed to invite the viewer to visually enter the landscape.My goal was to capture the moment of a sunset over a field of sunflowers and to create an atmosphere dominated by warm colors. The intense yellow of the petals interacts with the blue as well as with the shades of pink, orange, and blue-violet in the evening sky. I rendered the light of the sunset through contrasts of orange against pink, thereby uniting the entire painting in a warm and luminous atmosphere.I have always admired sunflowers and was drawn to the idea of expressing their beauty through painting. I particularly love the contrast between the yellow of the flowers and the blue of the sky, as well as their monumental quality: Miraculously, these flowers always turn their heads toward the sun and the light. I believe sunflowers can be painted in all their stages—in full bloom, at maturity, wilted, or dried—each offering a different visual and emotional expression.This landscape seeks to convey light, optimism, energy, warmth, and hope. The field of sunflowers is a space of light and positive inner feeling, capable of bringing a warm and optimistic visual presence to an interior.This artwork is particularly well-suited for a spacious living room, dining room, or entryway—especially where a horizontal piece can serve as a warm and luminous focal point.
