The Sweetest Note

This piece captures a woman enveloped by blossoms—both sheltered and obscured by them—reflecting the tension between beauty as adornment and beauty as burden. The figure’s posture suggests both surrender and strength, caught in a private moment of contemplation amid the vibrancy that surrounds her. The bold stripes of the background and the lush abundance of flowers contrast with her quiet inwardness, symbolizing the dissonance between external perception and internal truth. In this duality, I am interested in how women navigate their own presence: how they are seen, how they see themselves, and how their identities are interwoven with cycles of growth, bloom, and fragility.
