City, Labyrinth and Giant

Inspired by various worlds and movies (The Iron Giant, Labyrinth, The Mysterious Cities of Gold), I painted this on a whim. The idea was to depict a panorama of an unknown universe and then imagine how it works. Is it a lost city, a parallel world, another planet, a distant future... it doesn’t matter! Personally, every time I look at this painting, I always hear David Bowie’s line to Jennifer Connelly: “You now have thirteen hours to make your way out of the labyrinth...”!
