Mr. Jingles

Mr. Jingles was born the same way most of my characters are born: by accident. I never really decide who I'm going to paint. I simply begin... and discover them at the same time as everyone else. That time, when I stepped back and looked at the finished painting, I was genuinely surprised. He looked remarkably like a musician friend of mine whom I nicknamed Mr. Jingles. I had never intended to paint his portrait. It simply happened. Since then, he has become part of the Kepler-10b universe, where he is known as Jinglin. He is one of the leaders of the mining expeditions on the planet's scorching side. His gift is unique: he can hear metals resonating beneath the rock and even perceive the vital signs of his companions through those same vibrations. In a world where every expedition can cost lives, this is what made him a leader. Despite his unsettling appearance, Jinglin is a deeply just and protective being, always willing to risk his own life to save those under his care.
