Last Call for the Planet

Last Call for the Planet was born from an anxiety I had carried for a long time. Back then, I felt as though the Earth was sending us one final warning. One last call before it was too late. The clocks in its eyes remind us that time keeps moving forward, even when we choose to look away. Today, this painting speaks to me differently. As the years have passed, I feel as though this character has been searching for a place in my universe. I imagine it as an unfinished being, born from a collapsing world, whose growing anger eventually leads it to seek the destruction of another planet. Some paintings change over time. This one did too. It stopped watching the Earth... and turned its eyes toward Kepler-10b.
