Larimar City

Larimar City was born shortly after Kepler-10b, as if that planet had already refused to leave my mind. Despite measuring only a few inches, it represents one of the largest cities in my universe. A ghetto on the dark side, where the poorest devote their lives to searching for Larimar, the stone that has become their only hope. It was also in front of this painting that something changed within me. For the first time, I deliberately dirtied a painting. I let dark glazes settle over the buildings, the mountains, and the sky, as though the passing years had already left their mark. Without realizing it, this tiny painting had just given me a new way of painting. Some works open a door. Larimar City opened one that I have never closed.
