Bound by Demons and Saviours

Long before names were given to time or distance, the goddess accepted her place within their great machinery. She was enclosed by invisible gears spun from gravity, memory, chance, and desire. Around her gathered beings called demons and saviours, though no one could say which was which. They guarded the boundaries of her world while ensuring she could never leave it. The eye above kept silent watch as every encounter, every fear, every kindness became another thread in the web that held her. The goddess knew the paradox: without the cage there could be no sanctuary; without the constraints of existence, there could be no self at all.
