The Messenger

Inspired by the figures of animist goddesses, The Messenger draws on representations of half-woman, half-animal beings as intermediaries between the human and divine worlds. Her body becomes a vessel for messages: each person can place a small handwritten note inside, carrying an intention or wish for her to deliver to another realm and allow it to manifest. The work is fully modular. Its different elements can be assembled, separated, or combined in different ways, like a construction set. This possibility of recomposing the pieces is a recurring characteristic of my work.
